Welcome to Dan's Festival City!
In a new initiative for the Edinburgh Festivals, we're delighted to welcome our first ever blogger-in-residence, Dan James, as he explores Dan's Festival City this August.
Dan, also known as Dan Flying Solo, enjoyed a brief visit to the Edinburgh Festivals in 2016, and created this brilliant 90 second video from his trip:

Having put that together after just a few days in the world's leading festival city, we wanted to see what he could do if he was here for a few weeks!
Starting on 6 August, Dan will be our blogger-in-residence for 2018, taking in the sights and sounds of the Scottish capital as the city transforms into the world's culture capital. You can follow his adventures via #DansFestivalCity on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram and enjoy his exclusive blog posts, photos and videos at edinburghfestivalcity.com/dans-festival-city.
A renowned writer, photographer and videographer, Dan is well established as one of Lonely Planet’s ‘trailblazers’. He has has also worked with the likes of Skyscanner, Matador Network and National Geographic and, asked about joining up with the Festivals, Dan said:
I can’t wait to come back to one of my favourite cities in the world to explore all the festivals have to offer during the buzzing month of August. There’s always something new to experience, from innovative artistic projects to emerging talent and dazzling spectacles of live performance.
