Film Festival to screen Jaws with live orchestra
Edinburgh International Film Festival is bringing the live orchestra experience to fans of classic cinema once again, as the Royal Scottish National Orchestra provide the thrilling, menacing score from Steven Spielberg's classic movie, Jaws.
The screening (Friday 22 June 2018) is the latest in a string of hugely successful events in the last few years, with previous films featuring the RSNO including ET, Raiders of the Lost Ark and Back to the Future.
Jaws tells the gripping story of a small seaside town terrorised by a huge, man-eating great white shark, and the efforts of three very different men to work together and bring its attacks to an end.
The fantastic score was created by John Williams and moves effortlessly from the light-hearted strains of a peaceful summer holiday spot to the famous and terrifyingly effective main theme with its simple double-noted opening.
It's a magnificent piece of music and, performed by an expert group of musicians alongside the film itself, sure to send chills up the spine of all those lucky enough to be in attendance.
Jaws - In Concert will take place at the Edinburgh Festival Theatre on Friday 22 June, as part of the Edinburgh International Film Festival. Find out more at edfilmfest.org.uk
