Jazz and Blues Festival reveals all!
Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival has launched its full programme for 2015, with over 1000 performers taking part in over 150 gigs across 13 city venues – including the festival’s first daily lineup in St Andrew Square.
The festival (17-26 July) is the oldest jazz festival in the UK, and is anticipating huge audiences, after last year’s record breaking figures.
Top names taking part include the likes of Jools Holland, George Benson, Mud Morganfield, Brian Kellock and former members of the Average White Band, in their new outfit Person to Person.
They’ll be joined by someof the hottest new names in jazz and blues from across the world, including Antonio Sanchez, Melissa Aldana, Ambrose Akinmusire, Songhoy Blues and Stefano Bollani.
There’ll be centenary tributes for Frank Sinatra and legendary bluesman Willie Dixon, and a host of exciting collaborations supported by the Scottish Government’s Edinburgh Festival Expo Fund.
Not forgetting, of course, the hugely popular free events on the opening weekend, the Mardi Gras on Saturday 18/7 and the following day’s Edinburgh Festival Carnival.
Tickets on sale from Wednesday 6 May. For more information on the full 2015 programme, please visit the Jazz and Blues Festival website.
